Alopecia Vereniging
The Alopecia Vereniging is the Dutch alopecia association. Here, those with alopecia living in the Netherlands can connect, share tips & trick. The association also provides support by informing the members and connecting them to various organizations that offer further support.
I was asked to help maintain the Instagram account of the association and once I became more experienced due to my own blog, I started to create more quality content. This is in collaboration with other alopecia members as well. In addition, I am a part of the editor team of the yearly Alopecia Magazine.
In this way I hope to help even more people with hair loss, and I am grateful that I can volunteer for an organization so close to my heart.

Informative posts
A part of our posts consists out of informative posts for our followers. This includes wig tips & tricks, but also tips such as exercising without a hair piece or how to be open about your hair loss.

Personal stories
I actively search for people with hair loss who want to share their alopecia story on our Instagram account.

Their texts are checked, possibly edited and added into the templates I created.

Updates
Updates about the new Alopecia Magazine is shared, as well as upcoming and past events.

Results
When I started, the account had 200+ followers. In 2020/2021 I created templates for the other volunteers to use as well and I became more skilled due to newly gained experience. Now the account has 1500+ followers and we are able to reach both the younger (18-34) as the older (35-65+) generation, which was the goal.

Alopecia Magazine
I write articles for the yearly (print) Alopecia Magazine. This includes interviews with stakeholders and also stories from my own experience.
